Alila Hotels and Resorts and Equinox DMD to Release Indonesian Independent Music Compilation through the iTunes Store

Ubud, Bali, Indonesia (PRWeb) February 23, 2007 -- Alila Hotels and Resorts and Equinox Digital Music Distribution will launch their first CD music compilation entitled "Alila Independent Selection Vol. 1" that features 11 tracks by 10 of the most talented independent musicians in Indonesia. The compilation features diverse musical genres like contemporary rock, jazz, blues to lounge music and is available exclusively at Alila Living outlets and online in 22 countries through the iTunes Store.

To celebrate the launching, Alila Ubud will host a live recording performance of Bali's leading Blues guitarist, Made J, on Friday the 23rd of February at 8pm. Half-Balinese, half-English, Made J started playing rock and punk in high school in Australia, but it was not until he heard the legendary 1930s blues singer Robert Johnson that he adopted the old school blues lifestyle while hitchhiking his way around Europe and the United States. His first and only self-titled album was produced in 2005. Made J's performance at Alila Ubud will be recorded and distributed through iTunes as "Made J Live at Alila Ubud."

Alila Ubud General Manager Amanda Pummer said, "I have always known the immense musical talent in Indonesia and have been looking for ways to get them heard around the world. We discovered ten phenomenal, original artists and are thrilled to be working with Equinox DMD and iTunes on this compilation. This isn't your typical hotel lounge music CD - it is racy and colorful and intense, just like the country itself."

"This is a great collaboration as well as a great compilation," explained Mark Hanusz, Co-founder of Equinox DMD in Jakarta. "We are combining Alila's strong brand and reputation with the musicians' brilliant and unique music and our direct access to iTunes. I can't think of a better way to increase exposure for these artists."

Overture - Ape On The Roof
Shine A Light - Parkdrive

Different Genres Of Emo Bands
Emo is a broad title that covers a lot of different styles of emotionally charged punk rock and unfortunately most people have a horribly limited idea of what emo is, simply because the most important records in the development of emo were largely released in small numbers, and with limited distribution. These were however very influential, and still the their effects could be seen today. There are a lot of kids that listen to third- and fourth-generation emo styles without even knowing it.
