Antonio Pontarelli Brings Innovation to Indie Music at John Lennon Bus Stage at NAMM
Anaheim, Calif. (PRWEB) January 18, 2008 -- "It's all about the Music" at the Winter NAMM Show, and this year innovations will be unveiled at the John Lennon Educational Tour Bus with the help of award-winning rock violinist Antonio Pontarelli and his band. The John Lennon Educational Tour Bus features a state-of-the-art mobile Pro Audio and HD video recording facility that provides hands-on experiences for students of all ages. Pontarelli's band will be performing at the John Lennon Tour Bus stage on Sunday, January 20 at 2 p.m. The stage is located outside the NAMM convention's main entrance and is open to the public.
An accomplished singer-songwriter, Pontarelli has been performing throughout the US, engaging fans of all ages and supporting music education in high schools. "It's such an honor to perform on behalf of the John Lennon Educational Tour Bus, a renowned organization whose focus is helping young musicians develop their craft," said Pontarelli. "Making music requires passionate commitment and resources, and the John Lennon Tour Bus fulfills the needs of dedicated musicians." Most recently, Pontarelli collaborated with Serj Tankian, the voice of System of a Down on his solo release "Elect the Dead," which features Pontarelli's electric and acoustic violins. Later this year, he will appear on behalf of NAMM's Museum of Making Music in Carlsbad, CA, for a special "Informance." The pre-concert workshop-demonstration introduces the audience to the electric violin showcasing the evolution of sound and music from acoustic to electric. Pontarelli will explore a variety of electric violins from his own collection and the museum display by comparing and contrasting their technological similarities and differences.
It is this unique and innovative approach to current music which makes Pontarelli one of the most exciting artists to arrive onto the Indie music scene. He creates a fresh new brand of modern rock by blending his classical and Baroque roots with the sounds of Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Tool and System of a Down. For the past three years, Pontarelli has been honored as Music Connection Magazine's "Hot 100" most interesting Indie artists and has been internationally recognized as a violinist and performing artist.
